Despite the traditions that have survived in almost one hundred years of existence of a bar in San Felipe – where the leisure culture is a determining factor in its identity – today modernity begins to be perceived as a threatening agent, mainly through the standardization of consumption. Mala Muerte alludes to this struggle, to the transformation and disappearance of the activities, foods and customs that make up a lifestyle in extinction. From inside the bar, from everyday life and conversations that evoke a past we see the reality that describes a present.
